The Heliamphora are the South American representatives of the Sarraceniaceae. They are found almost exclusively on those flat table-top mountains, known as Tepuis, in Brazil, Guyana, and Venezuela. Here they are isolated from the warmer lowlands, and this has resulted in extreme speciation, where different species are found on different mountain tops.
In cultivation they appreciate high light levels, but also lower temperatures, and in a greenhouse are best kept near the door. Treat most as you would Sarracenia, standing in rain water, and allow a winter minimum of 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit).
Keep the pitchers topped up with rain water, but showering them overhead at least daily, more if it's hot. They do not need, or indeed like, misting, which can encourage sooty mildew to develop.
